What we record

WGATV Policies (last updated Nov. 2006) outline our recording priorities:
  1. Town Meetings - special and Annual, including Preliminary Budget Hearings
  2. Board of Selectmen - especially the regular meetings, plus the special meetings if possible
  3. Board of Finance and budget development meetings
  4. Woodbridge Board of Education
  5. Land use boards - Town Plan and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Inland Wetlands Agency
  6. Other boards, commissions & committees:
    1. Currently in 2016: CUPOP, Police, Fire, Economic Development, Conservation, Government Access TV
    2. Hardly ever: Human Services, Library, Recreation, building committees (if any) or Investment Committee
In reality, we are able to cover priorities 1-5 and some of #6. Sometimes we record programs sponsored by local government agencies, like presentations at the Library or the Senior Center, or the 5K Road Race and Fall Walk on town property.  We have recorded meetings of the Cable Advisory Council when they take place in Woodbridge, because their issues directly relate to WGATV support and continuance.  We occasionally covered events at the Massaro Farm, which is managed by a non-governmental nonprofit group operating on town property.

ANY ADULT WHO WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO RECORD MEETINGS OR EVENTS IS WELCOME TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE COORDINATOR: wgatv79@gmail.com

What we do not record:  Most regional boards, like Amity Board of Education (recordings by their Tech Dept., although they are now running these on the E channel 78).
